Reviews of The Clubhouse Project

You can post a comment about us below. We recently conducted a review and here are some of the comments you kindly sent to us:

All the staff are lovely. They are committed to the young adults that attend, and encourage them to participate in a varied timetable. My son loves the days he attends there.

At Virginia Lodge we were very appreciative of the structure provided by yourselves through the zoom sessions – especially during the 2nd lockdown – which occurred just after Christmas when outside options for activities were limited for our SU’s!

A challenging period for everyone, zoom sessions kept David sane by seeing his friends were at home as well. All staff should recognise the difference you make to the service users.
Many thanks.

Clubhouse provides a well balanced and safe environment for the young people attending the day service. We have seen our son grow in confidence while he has been there and he is always ready to try new things and enjoys the varied programme of activities. He is valued as are all the young people as an individual with his own needs and interests but the needs of the whole group is also an important aspect of Clubhouse life. I would always recommend Clubhouse to anyone looking for a Day Care placement for their son or daughter.

All the staff undoubtedly went above and beyond during the Covid restrictions, to limit the amount of upheaval caused and to try and ensure that our son did not miss out. This was very much appreciated.

The clubhouse has provided a constant in Alex’s life during the months of covid and this has been reassuring for him and us.

  1. Four young individuals from our service are attending TCP. They are always excited and happy to attend classes.
The variety of activities offered at Clubhouse is so wide on each day that each person will find something interesting.
Moreover staff members at Clubhouse are making sure that those activities are tailored to each person to learn and improve their skills.
Communication was always exceptional and as a supported living service we could always count on help from The Clubhouse Project team.
Amazing people, amazing place, exceptional support.

  2. Alex was very unwell when he started attending the Club House in March 2019 but the staff were not discouraged by his challenging needs.

They were very welcoming to Alex and the measures and actions they took have, together with the Surrey Team for the Learning Disabled, turned his life around. Their patience, kindness and caring expertise have helped Alex regain his confidence and joy of life and put him on the path to recovery..

Specifically, the games and activities they devised to reengage him with food have proved after months of baby steps forward to be very successful.. We will always be thankful for the time and energy they have devoted to his rehabilitation.

The Clubhouse has become a big part of Alex’s life. He has made new friends and loves going there. The variety of activities seem endless and include, working on the allotment, cooking, yoga, karate, bowling, golf, swimming, fishing, drama, dance and also various educational worksheets and activities.

The clubhouse is a wonderful and special place, we cannot thank them enough.

  3. I would like to thank everyone at the Clubhouse. for the fabulous care you have shown to Grant over the years. You have taking a lot of time and effort to offer wise words, which obviously come with years of experience. It is a huge relief, as a mum, to know that Grant is in good hands and in the right place. He must missing you all.

Please pass on my thanks to all who are caring for mum. You do a fantastic job and one for which I am most grateful.

  4. TCP has been very much part of all our lives as a family for several years now.. our son was at a very low point in his life when he started going four days a week. and it changed him completely.. The staff are so committed,. We have always felt that the needs of each individual that attends the project are at the heart of everything they do there. Our son has been so happy and has built up lots of friendships over the years and has taken part in so many activities which he really enjoys. TCP supported John when he made the major step of moving into supported living. He now shares the house with four other young people, three of them also from TCP.
We always look forward to the summer BBQ and the Christmas party when staff, parents, carers and clients all come together to have a fun time.
Thank you to all the staff. You are all Brilliant!

  5. Going to The Clubhouse is the highlight of my son’s week. There is such a warm, welcoming atmosphere and the facilities are excellent. They provide a wide range of activities, which are changed round regularly, whilst also managing to include some literacy and numeracy skills, something which does not seem to be replicated at any of the other centres he has attended since leaving school. We feel so fortunate to have heard about The Clubhouse and can’t thank all the staff enough for all their hard work to make it such a positive experience.

  6. TCP is magnificent! Our daughter has become so much more confident since starting and really adores all the lovely staff who work there.

The activities that are offered are varied and purposeful, challenging her to do things she has never wanted to try before. I would never have believed she would use a saw, dig the earth or even fill the dishwasher!

I love visiting there myself – you can almost pick the love out of the air it’s so tangible.
We have always felt supported and cared for as parents along with the obvious care for our daughter.

Thank you everyone – I hope we’ll see you all again soon.

  7. My son had his first trial day in April 2019. I had loved the atmosphere when I came to visit and was hoping that he would like it. I needn’t have worried at all……He LOVED it. He has now attended for a few days each holiday during his last year at school. He is so happy when he sees in the diary that he’s going. He talks about his friends there all the time. Particularly a young man who shares his passion for books. He shares transport with a young lady and they are so happy to see each other. Even the taxi drivers comment on how well they get on. I’m so grateful that he has been able to come along on these days to somewhere he’s understood, liked and can feel safe. Thank you for encouraging him to join in with new and unfamiliar activities You are stars!!!!
